December Notes
Let it snow!
It is sure starting to feel like Christmas out there now, with the beautiful snow globe effect out my window. It’s almost 4:30 on Tuesday, and it’s getting close to sundown already, the snow giving an overall “blueing” to the whole scene. Aren’t we all looking forward to the many inches of shoveling and plowing and snow throwing tomorrow? I know, I know, I can close my mouth now....
I actually enjoy the snow. Once the work is done, we find time to snowshoe or go sledding down the hills to the pond. The hill on the other side of the pond was named “Suicide Gulch” by my sons as they first went down the hill. Bumpy, fast, and about a four foot drop at the time down onto the pond through the cattails at the end. A tailbone smasher, for sure! I opt for the gentler slopes on this side, many times, my crazy tabby cat riding down with me. He’s an adventurous one!
At least we will all be in the spirit for Monday night—our annual Christmas party! We are going to have a lovely time so dress in holiday colors and if you so wish, bring a wrapped homemade art gift to be part of the gift exchange. It’s everyone’s favorite part of the night. We will be making merry building gingerbread houses and enjoying appetizers and holiday beverages. RSVP was by the 8th, so I hope you all made it in! I am looking forward to it :)
We had a board meeting last night and there will be some exciting changes and news to share as we move into 2026. One being our new home at the Buffalo Area Community Center.
January’s meeting will be a social-style one, with a location yet to be determined. We are hoping to have a meet/greet/hang out and just talk and be with each other kind of a meeting at a local establishment. If you have any great ideas for a place you think would be a good choice, give me a shout. We also will give the details of a group project we would like to do at that time, too.
Beyond that, please continue to share events and art related news with our social media platforms through Emily Holt and on our website with Shari Zimmermann. Emily’s email is emilychristine821@gmail.com and Shari’s is shari.l.zimm@gmail.com.
Enjoy the snow and see you Monday!
