September Notes
Change. Change is hard.
Change can be exciting, too. I am looking forward to when we get to move to the new Buffalo Area Community Center, having a space to really call home. A place to display and sell our art, a place to teach, a place to gather. A place to inspire each other.
Change is hard—as of the last meeting, we had someone who was interested in taking on the treasurer position for our guild, and that has since fallen through. So, we are back to asking someone to step in, join the board, and help manage our checkbook. Wayne needs to step away, but is more than willing to answer questions anytime. You can email him at wwhein33@gmail.com. I hope you will consider. It’s not a lot of work, but when we gather dues in the beginning of the year, it’s a little bit of work! :)
We are changing our meeting this coming Monday!
Join us for a field trip to Maple Plain to Naomi Binsfeld’s fiber arts studio! It’s located at 5300 U.S. Highway 12. It’s the old brick schoolhouse on the north side of Hwy 12. If you still can’t find it, my cell is 763.221.4304. Naomi’s is 763.300.8564. We will have some fiber art fun to try!
It’s almost time! I hope you have had some time to pursue finding ways to incorporate Yayoi Kusama’s art style into your own. Another way change can be difficult or exciting, but I always appreciate studying these amazing artists, learning about them and trying to figure out their process and outcome in their art. I can’t wait to see what part of her you have chosen to do. Your artwork will be due at the October meeting, along with art for our venues. Stay tuned for more details from our venue liasons about what art they would like.
It’s also time for the annual art show at the Delano Library! Any art can be displayed. If you have a couple of pieces you would like to show, please drop it off during open hours anytime until the end of September. The earlier the better for us! Your art will be on display for the whole month of October. Reach out to me if you need more information.
Short and sweet this time. See? Sometimes, change is good! :) Have a happy fall, and visit an apple orchard—you will never eat better apples! If you want to stop in, I work at Fall Harvest Orchard in Montrose on the weekends and it is a joy!
